Our History
CGP Build is a 4th generation family building business that has been working in Dorset since 1903, gaining a great reputation along the way.
It was all started by Edwin Pitcher, founding the business on simple values that we still hold close to our hearts even to today - good quality work at fair and honest prices.
Edwin passed on the business to his
son, Cyril George Pitcher, who was joined in the 1960s by his son,
Graham, who ran the company right up to his death in 2012.The business has won a reputable name within Dorset, with Mark now continuing to build on the foundations set down by his great-grandfather.
In 2008 Graham Pitcher celebrated 45 years working in the family business, an achievement that has been marked with the fixing of a stone at the Durweston school project, a £1.3 Million extension.
It is now Mark, Grahams son, who has taken the reins, having great pride in improving everything that CGP Build does - bringing in modern practices, whilst still retaining the age old values of his great-grandfather.
