  • CGP Build was founded in Poole in 1903 by Edwin Pitcher, establishing a family tradition of building excellence that spans four generations. Following Cyril Pitcher taking over in 1932, the firm became C G Pitcher and Son Ltd in 1962 when Graham Pitcher joined the company. Current Chief Executive Officer Mark Pitcher joined in 2006 before rebranding the business to CGP Build in 2018. Today, the company carries forward more than 120 years of construction heritage with a permanent in house team of skilled tradespeople.
  • Headquartered in Sturminster Newton, Dorset, CGP Build undertakes projects across Dorset, Somerset, Devon, and South Wiltshire. Projects located outside these core areas are gladly considered on a case by case basis.
  • We deliver complete residential building solutions across the South West, including bespoke home extensions, full home renovations, structural alterations, custom new builds, and specialist listed and heritage projects. Every project is backed by our Guaranteed Maximum Price to protect your budget from unexpected costs, supported by our in-house architectural design, statutory planning guidance, dedicated project management, and lifetime aftercare.
  • Before starting work on site, we carry out thorough pre construction checks, opening up structural elements to identify potential issues early. If unexpected structural complications arise during the build, CGP Build absorbs the additional cost so your agreed contract budget never increases without an explicit scope change requested by you.
  • Every project is governed by a clear programme with an agreed practical completion date. If CGP Build runs past the agreed finish date due to contractor delays, we automatically refund you £50 per calendar day for every day the build goes over schedule.
  • All physical work completed by our tradespeople is protected by a permanent workmanship guarantee. Upon project completion, you are introduced to our dedicated aftercare team, who assists with the natural settling in period and returns to resolve any workmanship adjustments free of charge.
  • Yes, we operate as a complete design and build contractor. Our in house architect works directly alongside our estimating team, project managers, and site foremen under one roof, ensuring your architectural plans match both your design vision and your Guaranteed Maximum Price.
